The annual Fete will be held on Saturday august 27th from 4pm at Portclew Farm. I am looking for volunteers to help out with the games and the bar. If you would like to help please get in touch as it would be good to know in advance, but if you are not sure yet then you can always offer on the day.

It is usually an enjoyable afternoon with teas, BBQ, bar, stalls, games and hopefully some live music.

The shortest way to get there is to turn into the bottom of the camping field half way up Trewent Hill.

I have receive a letter from the National Park consulting TPHHOA on Freshwater East Slipway management. The proposal is to start charging for use of the slipway from January 2012. The full letter can be reached from the TPHHOA web site home page but the proposed scale of charges will be as follows:

1. Annual pass and key. Available on application for a fee of £60.00 and receipt of a registration form giving boat and vehicle details and a declaration that suitable insurance is held for the use of the vehicle on the beach for launching a boat.
2. A ‘rented’ key available out of season from a local outlet. £20 per week plus a returnable deposit of £60.00. A registration form must be completed.
3. A daily charge (summer season only) of £6 made directly to the slipway attendant when on duty.

Users of the private tractor launching service will be charged for use of the slipway as above.

Out of hours during the summer the National Park is looking into the possibility of locking the barrier between the hours of 10pm and 9am. Between the hours of 5pm and 10pm the barrier would be closed but not locked.
